Shopping at Clarks
Clarks is a shoe making company which was founded back in 1825, in a small village in Somerset county, the Street, in England. The founders of this company were the Clark brothers, who first had a tannery firm. After the James’s idea of making slippers from the sheepskin leftovers, the odyssey of the today’s extremely popular Clarks shoe making company began. Throughout the years, the company has evolved from making sheepskin slippers, into an extremely modern company, famous for their innovations in shoe making machines, more than 100 patents in that area to be more precise, establishing the standards for shoes that follow the line of the foot, and countless models that have marked nearly every decade in the shoe fashion history. They were the ones responsible for ending the Victorian buttoned-up era, and starting the new age of flashy lady ankles. Throughout the Clark company’s history, many important names from the shoe fashion world have worked with them, Hardy Amies, Eley Kishomoto, Foot Patrol, the “queen of prints”, Orla Kiely, Musto, and Norton.
